SEESHA Health Camps – 2025: Bringing preventive healthcare to communities!

World Health Day is observed annually on April 7th to emphasize the importance of preventive care and healthy living. This year's theme—'Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures' - advocates actions to ensure access to high-quality care for women and newborns.

In observance of World Health Day, SEESHA organized health camps, including general health, dental, and eye screening camps across 8 SEESHA project locations, namely Vanagaram - Chennai, Annagramam - Cuddalore, Vyara - Gujarat, Ranchi - Jharkhand, Avanam - Periyanayagipuram, Mahim - Mumbai, DJ Halli - Bengaluru, and Karunya Nagar - Coimbatore in the second week of April.

Along with the free consultations, monitoring of vital parameters like blood sugar, hemogram, ECGs, and blood pressure checks were done free of cost at most of the locations. During the camp, essential medications and spectacles were also provided free of cost to patients in need.Nearly 1000 beneficiaries from SEESHA project communities were screened during the health camps and more than 230 persons were referred to hospitals for future treatment.

More than 600 community members were screened during the health camps held at Chennai, Cuddalore, Periyanayagipuram, Bengaluru and Karunya Nagar – South India project locations.
