Livelihood Support

We support women-headed households with a monthly financial incentive, to complement their family income.

More than 300 women avail financial support from SEESHA on a monthly basis. Most of the beneficiaries of this initiative are young widows or destitute women who have been abandoned by their husbands or their families. This support assists them in meeting their basic necessities.

The monthly support not only provides the women with a certain social security, it also endows them with a sense of emotional security that someone is taking care of them. This provides them with the motivation to move forward, no matter how bleak their situation may seem.

Moreover, this amount is also SEESHA’s way of curbing child labour in families where the primary breadwinner is absent, thus passing on the weight of the financial burden to the children.
