Community-Based Day-Care Centres

SEESHA identifies children with various types of intellectual disabilities in the communities we work and enrols them in the community-based day care centres.

These centres, in addition to training the differently-abled, are also beacons for sensitizing the communities towards persons with disabilities. They offer special education specific to the needs of each child, in consultation with their families.

The SEESHA and NIEPMD Extension Centre in Vanagaram, Tamil Nadu is a joint venture by SEESHA in partnership with the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD).

Professionally-trained occupational therapists, speech therapists and special educators at this centre provide treatment and therapy, appropriate to the individual conditions of each person free of cost.
