New Clothes Distribution at Chennai
It was a grand celebration of the ‘Joy of Giving’ at Dr.D.G.S. Dhinakaran Salai, Chennai, spreading happiness, cheer & carving smiles on the faces of the needy children, disadvantaged women, the differently-abled and transgender persons, when Mrs. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran, Mr. Samuel Paul Dhinakaran and Dr. Shilpa Dhinakaran inaugurated the annual New Clothes distribution for the needy children across India on December 21, 2019. Earlier, Mr. Samuel Paul Dhinakaran, Trustee - Karunya Deemed to be University, presided over the new clothes distribution function and shared the Word of blessing.
Apart from new clothes to the 1000 needy children, sewing machines were distributed to 8 disadvantaged women from extremely poor communities who successfully completed the 6 months duration vocational training course in tailoring conducted by SEESHA. To support the rehabilitation of differently-abled persons, assistive device (Retro-fitted motor vehicle) was distributed during the event. Under SEESHA’s livelihood development to support transgender community, livelihood assistance was distributed to two transgender persons. Course completion certificates were distributed to 50 trainees who completed the job-oriented vocational training courses conducted by SEESHA.
SEESHA’s Trustee Adv. Easwaradhas, SEESHA’s Chief Operating Officer Dr. J. Samuel Thomas along with SEESHA staff, children and the general public participated in the event.Children’s cultural programs were organized during the function. The event was well-received and appreciated by all, especially by the beneficiaries and their families.
