SEESHA Launches New Clothes Distribution Drive for Underprivileged Children across India during the 'Joy of Giving' Season
On December 8th, 2022, SEESHA launched its new clothes distribution event, "Joy of Giving," at Dr. DGS Dhinakaran Salai in Chennai. The event aimed to spread happiness, cheer, and carve smiles on the faces of underprivileged children, disadvantaged women, needy youth, and the differently-abled. SEESHA's Founder, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, along with Mr. Samuel Paul Dhinakaran and Ms. Stella Ramola, launched the new clothes and distributed various welfare assistance to people in need on the day of the event.
Apart from distributing new clothing to 400 underprivileged children, SEESHA also distributed power-operated sewing machines to two disadvantaged women from extremely poor communities who successfully completed SEESHA's tailoring vocational training course. A wheelchair was also distributed to aid in the rehabilitation of differently-abled people, and SEED money for a microenterprise initiative was given to one woman during the event.
Under SEESHA's livelihood development programme to support disadvantaged women, push carts were given to five entrepreneurial vendors as livelihood support. Two beneficiaries were additionally supported with iron boxes, and one beneficiary received cooking vessels. To encourage and empower youth from rural communities, sports kits were provided to youngsters from Nallavadu youth club and TS Pettai youth club from Cuddalore District.
